Salsola gr. longifolia

Synonym: Salsola sieberi auct.

Flora of Morocco (Fennane et al., 1999) distinguishes two var.: Salsola sieberi var. gymnomaschala Maire (= S.gymnomaschala Mayor) and Salsola sieberi var. deschaseauxiana (Litard. & Maire) Maire (= S. verticillata Schousboe). They are distinguished by the length of floral bracts (shorter or longer than the flowers) and stamens form. These characters could not be verified the plant should be reported to S. sieberi Presl. s.l.
