Why teline.fr?

The name of the site is Teline. It is initially the occasion to evoke an endemic leguminous plant of the Western Anti-Atlas and second and above all to pay homage to our regretted colleague and friend C. Raynaud who proposed the new combination: Teline segonnei (Mayor) C. Raynaud (= Adenocarpus segonnei Mayor).

About the author

I was from 1969 to 1979 a lecturer and a researcher at the Scientific Institute of Rabat (Morocco), an institution which aims at improving the knowledge of the biodiversity of the country. As a botanist and biologist, I was led to make an inventory of the Plant Communities of the Souss basin where the argan tree, a member of the tropical family Sapotacaea, is widely distributed.

With this site, it is the occasion to express my gratitude to all those - too many to be named - which enabled me to achieve my task by facilitating my researches into the south Western Morocco.

I would like to show a particular gratitude to two colleagues and friends - A. El Aboudi and F. Msanda - who travelled with me in the field during these last 20 years, without their help I could not have known south-west Morocco as well as I do.

Since then, the Moroccan colleagues have taken over, with the concern of perfecting the obtained knowledge in the fields of ecology and floristic. The following publications should be praised:

All these works were very awaited: thank you very much to the colleagues who work relentlessly to make us discover the biodiversity of Morocco.
